Air India has been in the market with an unlimited flying pass for the past few months, and I thought I’d cover it now that the validity of the product was extended.
For people who anticipate a lot of travel in India in a burst of 15 days, this is the product they should gun for. The product comes in two variants:
- The Silver Pass allows for Economy class travel for INR 35,000 (700 USD)
- The Platinum Pass allows for Business class travel for INR 75,000 (1,500 USD)
The 15-days period starts from the day the first trip is made, and one can move across the 66 destinations of the airline inside India. This amount includes the taxes and fees payable for the entirety of the trip.
I am not entirely sure if the trip accrues miles, but if it is being sold in the coupon class category, where I suspect it will be, you should get 500 miles per segment flown on the Flying Returns program. Also, since tickets are capacity controlled, if you need to be booked in another higher fare category, you need to pay INR 500/1000 for another fare class (eco/biz) per segment.
Take note, that all the travel has to be completed by 15 January 2012.
If you are visiting India and/or a business traveller in India who has a strenuous travel schedule, then you could benefit from this offer since it allows you to visit multiple locations in a fixed price. The recent A321 product is actually something I’d say ‘not bad’ for.

PS: since the Flying Returns program per se is useless, this does not get qualified for a 10 day long mileage run!!!
