First glimpses of Kingfisher Airlines sporting the oneworld logo

I was over at the Mumbai Marathon 2012 like every year, and came across an interesting visual that caught my eye. Kingfisher Airlines, for whatever bad shape they are in, is on its way to joining the oneworld alliance. Now, speculation has been on all this while if they will join or not, or will they survive that far. I hope you signed on for your free Ruby status via Kingfisher.

However, Kingfisher seems to be confident. They are supposed to be on board on 10th February 2012. However, a month out, they already are putting out promotional material advertising their oneworld connection at the Marathon today. Have a look:

Kingfisher Elites to receive new cards

If you’re a Kingfisher Silver, Gold or Platinum, expect to receive your new Kingfisher King Club membership cards before 10th February 2012. Here is the official communique from KFA:

King Club King Platinum cardholders will have oneworld Emerald status with its King Club Gold members enjoying oneworld Sapphire status, gaining them access to more than 550 airport lounges worldwide offered by the alliance’s airlines.  King Club Silver cardholders will have oneworld Ruby status.

King Club Platinum, Gold and Silver cardholders will soon be sent new membership cards, bearing the oneworld logo, to ensure they receive their alliance benefits from 10 February.

Also from 10 February, the 120 million members of the established oneworld airlines’ frequent flyer programmes will be able to earn and redeem awards and tier status points and receive all other oneworld benefits on Kingfisher Airlines.

So there you go, my crystal ball tells me Kingfisher has been brought on board oneworld. Now I’m looking forward to see how soon do they get a oneworld livery on a plane of theirs!
