A couple of months back I wrote that Turkish Airlines was freely matching top-tier elites from SkyTeam, oneworld and even Star Alliance to their own program Miles & Smiles.
While we would have expected that this opportunity would have quickly closed out, it turns out that Turkish is still out there matching up folks to its program, though various people report a hit and miss scenario. Some have received their status match confirmation in a day while others have not heard for over a few weeks. My brother, who is an elite on another airline and ends up flying Star Alliance to and around the USA a couple of times a year, received his match earlier this week within 24 hours of writing to TK.

@Michael, thats a first. Can you send them your BA card with the new status you have on BA (via your BMI status?)
I used the TK Elite status during a trip that I used to qualify for Aegean Star Gold (for longer term *G). Didn’t receive a TK card but had no problems at LAX, NRT, SIN, and BOM showing my online account printout.

I have recently achieved elite status with TK, but I have not received the gold card. Is it possible to print a temporary paper status card from the Turkish´s website?
@Guilherme it will usually take 3 weeks or so for the card to arrive. no temporary paper status cards but I’ve heard if you carry a printout of your profile page on the TK website it works fine.
@xsays The Delta card comes eventually. I status matched with them a few years ago.
@Santastico The Turkish Airlines site is not user friendly. I had the same thing happen when I tried to register a few months ago, I just ended up calling the 800 number. They told me to do it online but I did then get the representative to open an account manually for me. It is annoying. I have a also found it difficult to book reservations on their site. I think I ended up using Travelocity the last time I flew Turkish Airlines. It is a good airline though. Only airline I have been on in recent years that actually gives you an amenity bag in coach on international flights.
Worst website ever. Cannot complete application because it says I am already registered but my application never went through.
Good lookin’ out- I got matched from Delta. Do you know if they are sending out cards to matched members? I haven’t received one despite receiving the match about a month ago.
