GoIbibo.com offering free cabs on booking flight tickets

GoIbibo.com, one of the many travel portals out there, recently launched a promotional offer called the GoIbibo VIP service, where they are offering a free cab transfer service at the arrival airport (in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore) for those who book domestic flight tickets with them.

On using the promotion code FLYVIP while making your reservations, you will be eligible for a cab pickup at your destination airport (if it is BOM, DEL, BLR) where a representative of the company will provide you with your cab details. To avail of the promotion, you need to:

  • Make a reservation to fly to DEL, BOM or BLR
  • Book before 30 Sep 2012  31 October 2012 (make sure to book at least 24 hours prior to travel to be able to avail of the promo)
  • Travel before 15 Oct 2012  30 November 2012
  • Carry a copy of the voucher sent to you by Goibibo

The promotion allows for a fare discount of upto Rs. 400 on the cab fare exclusive of any applicable taxes or tolls or waiting charges. Now, I am not entirely sure if GoIbibo is using fleet cab services such as MERU in these cities to fulfil the offer, or some low-end service provider. But this could make good sense to use in case you will be in one of these three cities anyways.

In BOM, a trip from the airport to south Mumbai should cost you the entire Rs. 400 amount. In BLR, the airport to city centre drive anyways costs about Rs. 700 and in DEL, this amount should be good to give you a drop to the city centre.

  1. Cabs is good than nothing but it would be much appreciated especially for foreign guests if they have more of an exclusive ride to use than regular cabs.
