ITC Hotels, with its line-up of 50 hotels across India, just introduced an awesome promotion which will be valid from May 1 to September 30, 2013. Taking a leaf from the book of Hyatt, Marriott and others who’ve done a free night promotion in the past, Club ITC, which is ITC Hotels own loyalty program, is now introducing a free night promotion for every 3 paid stays at participating ITC Hotel properties across India.

The Club ITC program, which is the common loyalty program for the hotel and the apparel division, asks you to either make 3 stays at the 50 participating properties (listed below), or spend Rs. 60,000 at these to earn one night stay certificates. As per the Terms & Conditions, the eligible spend excludes applicable taxes, service charges, paid outs, banquets, gratuities, catering and Travel House charges. One could earn upto 5 free nights with this promotion.

To make sure that there is no abuse, the T&C do state that there has to be a 24 hour difference between successive check-out & check-ins at the same hotel. Which does not prohibit you to break your stay with a companion and credit each night to a different Club ITC account if you so please. Also, to earn these nights, one needs to use their Club ITC number and cannot credit their points & miles balances elsewhere (for instance, some ITC hotels are a part of the SPG Luxury Collection, but they can’t be credited to the SPG account, and similarly no stay credits as miles to Jet Airways).

Burning options:

The free stay voucher is in addition to the regular accumulation of green points (ITC currency), and you can redeem it for a weekend night at any of the following hotels: New Delhi: ITC Maurya and Sheraton, New Delhi; Mumbai: ITC Maratha and ITC Grand Central; Kolkata: ITC Sonar; Hyderabad: ITC Kakatiya; Chennai: ITC Grand Chola; Sheraton Park Hotel & Towers; My Fortune, Chennai; Bengaluru: ITC Gardenia and ITC Windsor; Vadodara: WelcomHotel Vadodara; Visakhapatnam: WelcomHotel Grand Bay; Aurangabad: WelcomHotel Rama International. Redemptions are valid till January 10, 2014 and very few blackout dates apply.

There are other options as well, such as receiving 4000 JP Miles, or 4000 Rs. worth of shopping at Wills Lifestyle stores or 4000 Rs. worth of dining at some ITC restaurants.

All in all, a solid promotion, and I feel those who travel in and around India for business could take benefit from this promotion.
