India Fare Sale Update: Air India, Jet Airways, Go Air, Indigo & SpiceJet offering 50% off fares

A few days back, SpiceJet started out the first 50% off sale of the year. Next, there was Indigo, GoAir and then Air India. Everyone, including me, was waiting for Jet Airways to get into the game as well. And they did, last evening.

Jet Airways is offering 50% off tickets till end of 24 January 2014 on JetKonnect, which is their low cost subsidiary at www.jetkonnect.com. You won’t find these fares anywhere else, including JetAirways.com.

The beauty of JetKonnect is, it sells full-service flights on JetAirways as a codeshare flight as well, but at 50% off to the full fare available on JetAirways.com. Have a look at the instance below, where you see the Jet Airways symbol along with all the flights selling for INR 3,579 on a sample itinerary.

The only compromise in this situation is, that you are going to be booked in on the G fare class, which will attract 50% miles only as compared to the 75% miles you get on flying on a JetKonnect issued ticket, and if you book Jet Airways flights, you won’t be able to web-checkin, but you get to tele-checkin at least. I don’t think that is a massive problem if you’re going to be able to book tickets for 50% off. Additionally, if you have a Jet Airways co-branded credit card from ICICI, HDFC, Amex then you can also use your 5% off coupon code to further reduce the cost of these tickets. But remember, those tickets can only be booked with those credit cards then.

This fare sale is only open till end of today, and I’ve helped friends and family booked a lot of tickets late night, on some traditionally very expensive routes as well. Like Mumbai – Udaipur is on sale.

There is also the Air India sale, which is still on for one more day today, and those fares are also available on Yatra.com, MakeMyTrip.com and GoIbibo.com. [UPDATE: All the 5 airlines are on sale till 2359 hours India time today, though flight choices are limited now]

  1. Hi AJ, I didn’t realize that the JetKonnect website uses a separate booking engine and runs parallel to the Jet Airways website. Usually I just use the Jet Airways site directly and assume that it shows JetKonnect flights as well (which it does). Any idea whether bookings made on the JetKonnect website can be post-facto refunded using Citi PremierMiles in the same way that bookings made on the Jet Airways website can?
