Uber offering free rides in Delhi today

It is without doubt my favourite ground travel service at the moment, and Uber is spreading out fast in parts of India I frequent often. Today is election day in Delhi, and Uber is offering two free rides up to INR 1000 each for new and existing users both to be able to get out to vote. The first thing you have to do is to download the Uber app on your Apple/Android smartphone.

The special promotion code to Uber in Delhi today, between 7 am to 7 pm, is VOTEDELHI. If you’ve never used Uber before, you can signup using this referral link, get INR 300 credit for using at a later date as well. And then, you can apply coupon code LIVEFROMALOUNGE to get two free rides worth INR 500 in your account (valid across India till April 20). And finally, apply VOTEDELHI to get your voting related rides today. Uber says it will ramp up the number of cars that are available on the roads to meet the surge in demand today.

There is also a contest where users can tweet with the hashtag #UberVoteDelhi or Instagram their pictures and videos after voting. Users also have to write back saying why their vote was important. The most interesting answers stand a chance to win Uber credits.

  1. Love Uber been extensively using them in Delhi for the last 4 days. Very nice cars in Delhi. Not up to the mark in Bombay and Bangalore.

  2. Hey Ajay. You may want to check if the referral code is stackable with other promo codes? Ive heard theres a recent change in policy.
