Air Asia India to fly Bangalore-Goa for INR 990 a.i. from June 12

Yesterday, I put in some details about the expected start of Air Asia India from June 12, 2014. Further, my prediction was that Chennai (MAA) – Bangalore (BLR) was going to be the first route for them. Turns out I was not entirely correct with that.

Air Asia will be operating Bangalore (BLR) – Goa (GOI) on June 12, 2014 as its first flight at 3 PM. They have priced the tickets at INR 990 all inclusive, and plan to turn around the plane in 30 minutes. And not all tickets would be at these prices. The next route to be operated will be Bangalore (BLR) – Chennai (MAA) which will operate 2x daily frequencies. So it will be a route on day 10, but not the inaugural route.

Turns out they were going to start accepting reservations last night, but SpiceJet took them off guard by offering tickets on the same route at INR 1499 ex taxes, so they called their first sale off, and further reduced prices to INR 990 this morning. If you want, you can buy SpiceJet tickets even now at these new reduced prices.

Air Asia India will start selling tickets at www.airasia.com tonight from 9:30 PM onwards.

There will be more news later today, and I’ll bring you up to speed with all you need to know about I5! The big question for me is to see if Chennai is still their base, or have they moved it to Bangalore.
