Malaysia Airlines discount fares from India till 18 July 2014

Malaysia Airlines is celebrating 40 years in India, and they have put out some great deals for travels originating from India to celebrate this. These deals are available for booking till July 18, 2014 and travel till November 30, 2014. Some routes are available for travel till October 10, 2014 only, however.

You get to fly from Malaysia Airlines’ 6 stations in India which include Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi to various Malaysia Airlines destinations such as Bangkok, Kuala Lampur, Beijing, Osaka, Manila, Penang and so on. You can look up the deals on the Malaysia Airlines website under Deals for the Day.

Here is a glimpse of some fares I found. Bangkok flights are traditionally supposed to be cheap, and I see them at INR 16-17K for a roundtrip here. Other destinations in the Asia-Pacific, such as in Japan, or in China are a tad more expensive. Australia costs more at about INR 45-50K INR.

With oneworld membership, if you are a oneworld elite, you get access to lounges as well, and other priority services. Most of these fares are booking as promo fares in O class, which is not earning credit on most programs. These fares are also available via GoIbibo, MakeMyTrip.com, Expedia and Yatra.com.

But these are some great fares and if you are planning a vacation in the coming months which have some long weekends, you sure should look at these fares. Do tell me where you plan to book up and go.

  1. Just got a Shocking news .. Another Malaysian Airline from KL to Amsterdam crashed near Ukrain with 300 on board. Don’t know why these Malaysian Planes are crashing.

  2. Hi Ajay,

I am about to book a ticket on Malaysian Airlines from BOM-SIN.I have a question for you.
Does this fare code O earn any Avios or does it earn any AA miles. If not then on which one world partner can I earn miles with this fare code.
    Thanks

    • @Paul, I am sure it earns no AA miles as per the AA site. As deep discounted fares, I do not expect any miles on any airlines with these fares.
