Air India to offer 40% reduced award tickets again!

Air India launched a 40% discount on award tickets to their own Flying Returns members last month, where they offered a discount on the number of miles to their members across the Air India network, domestic as well as international. The only catch, you had to take off Monday through Thursday to qualify for the discount. The numbers were pretty good to pass up, so I did make it work a couple of times to redeem tickets on Air India.

The good news is, Air India is bringing back the promotion again in a couple of months. I don’t know if this is to incentivize people to burn their points and get some liabilities off Air India’s books, or is it to promote their paperwork-on-your-account campaign. However, what we do know is that the network wide redemption will be back for travel dates between July 11 to September 29, 2016.

As of the moment, the booking engine is not showing these discounted tickets as bookable, so I’m not sure when will this be open for members to be able to redeem, but this is coming soon, and I’m sure this is a good redemption value. I’ll update you when more details are available on the new redemption promotion, as to when it is bookable.

In the meanwhile, you should let me know how were you able to use the last round of the 40% off promotion.

  1. I utilised bangalore Delhi, at discounted miles. Also they may have credited 1971 miles in my account may be for this trip I presume as there is no breakup.

  2. No :(, I was unable to book tickets in this round, When I tried to update my KYC, the website gave me an error that I have a duplicate account, I have been following up flying returns customer care since last two months, but they wont merge the two accounts, and without the merge the website wont let me submit KYC.

I checked with SBI they second flying returns account was created by SBI and I was completely unaware of this.

I really hope flying returns is able to merge my two account in time for the next redemption period.
