Uber to allow ride scheduling

Uber, the world’s favourite ride-ordering app, just went one step further, moving from just being an on-demand business, to offering the ability to pre-schedule rides. In an announcement made today, Uber announced that they will roll out the feature, first to their Business-user profiles, and over a period of time to everyone else.

More About Schedule Rides

According to Uber, you would now be able to schedule rides from up to 30 days to up to 30 mins in advance from when you need it. The feel it would be handy, for instance, for the business traveller, who needs a ride at 4 am to arrive to the airport in time for their flight. The feature is right now available by signing up for it on this Uber page. You need to have a business profile, and surge pricing may apply (which is not so useful if you already told them 10 days in advance for instance that you wanted a ride). Here is how it works

Is it available everywhere?

Right now, the first city to get the schedule ride feature is Seattle, but a broader rollout is planned as they come along.

In case you don’t have an Uber account, you could sign up for one using my referral link, which will give you your first ride free.

Will you guys use this new Uber feature? I sure am planning to use it most airport rides of mine.
