30,000 IHG Rewards Club Points for 2 stays through 2016

In an attempt to take back its market share from Online Travel Agencies, earlier this year  IHG announced its Book Direct promotion that is rewarding members who book their stays directly with IHG. Yesterday, IHG announced a similar promotion through which members can earn a bonus of 30,000 IHG reward points by booking directly with IHG and completing stays.

Members need to register for this promotion and under this offer you can earn full 30,000 IHG Rewards Points after completing 2 stays. Both stays need to be completed by December 31, 2016 and each stay must be a minimum of two nights. All bookings need to be done via the IHG website or mobile site. Remember, the promotion is valid for InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites hotels and resorts in Asia Pacific (excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), the Middle East and Africa.

In addition to the bonus points, you can also get up to 35% off room rates  on reservations made now until 15 September 2016, for stays up to 30 September 2016, at participating InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites hotels and resorts in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region. Just like last time IHG properties in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are excluded from this promotion. You can access full details of the promotion here

Bottomline:

Even though this promotion overlaps IHG’s currently running Book Direct Promotion, it makes sense as it is not tiered and you can earn the full 30,000 points after 2 stays. IHG does have leisure hotels in Kerala, Goa and Rajasthan. It could work nicely if you are thinking of planning a vacation  for the upcoming long weekend holidays in India, or take a quick weekend break abroad..
