IHG is running a few interesting promotions this season. There is the new task-driven Accelerate that I wrote about earlier this week . Then there is an opportunity for all InterContinental Ambassador members to earn additional 10,000 IHG Rewards Club Points for every Club InterContinental stay this year.
However one of their most lucrative promotions is the Book Direct promotion they launched in April this year where you get a 1,000 bonus points just for registering and then another 39,000 points for completing 3 paid stays through December 31, 2017.
The bonus points will be credited in the following way in members accounts :
- 1,000 points for registration
- 5,000 points after completing the first Qualifying Stay
- 9,000 points after completing the second Qualifying Stay
- 15,000 points on completion of third Qualifying Stay
- 10,000 points additional bonus after completing all the three stays
Keep in mind that this promotion is open for stays at IHG hotels in Asia (except Greater China), Middle East and Africa. With the current IHG Book Your Rate sale going on through August 14 where you could book through next year, you’re assured to get about 25% off on rates. So, maybe time to register and book up.
Bottomline:
You can earn bonus points under Book Direct in conjunction with other IHG Promotions like the Accelerate. I did that last year and earned 75,000 IHG Rewards Club points. 40,000 points are good enough to get a night’s stay at the Intercontinental in Bangkok and Pattaya or you could book straight 8 nights stay for 5,000 points each night at the Intercontinental in Indonesia.
Have you signed up for the Book Direct promotion yet? You should if you haven’t. Then stack it up with the other IHG promotions as well and see your balance grow!
If I book 3 consecutive nights at the same hotel in UAE by creating separate reservations, will I qualify for 40000 IHG Bonus?
@KRISHNAKUMAR – Irrespective of how many time you check-in & check-out, consecutive nights spent in the same hotel will count as one stay only.
@ Shipra- So if I stay at Property A on Day1, Property B on day 2 and gain check in at Property A on Day 3. I should be able to get 40000 points.. Correct??

I’m a UK IHG Plat member and haven’t been sent anything about the Book Direct 3 stays = 40,000 points.
How can I be sure I qualify ?
Do I need to have been targeted or what ?????
Mine also asks for a promo code. How do you get around that?

I have register for both Accelerate & book Direct, however now I dont see book direct under my offer status. any specific reason. Also I understand we can book only 2 night for each participating hotel.
