Seeking inputs for our Mumbai Meetup

One of the things we’ve heard a lot of requests for is to organise informal meetups with the members of the community that we have been building over a period of many years now. I’ve done a couple of organised meetups in the past, however, most of my meetups with you guys end up being at the airports, bumping into you. It is not like we don’t like to meet you, however, we don’t usually end up having the opportunity to meet properly given the last minute plans we make all the time.

So, we are going to give it one more go and do a few meetups this year while the year is still young! While the Bangalore meetup is going to happen later this month, we are now in the process of planning the first Mumbai meetup as well.  With Mumbai being polarised as a location (South, Centre, West, East), we thought we’d put the location and time to vote to see what comes up. So we thought we would put it out to vote and see what do our readers prefer. The objective is to meet as many of you as possible, so we will choose the location and date per the availability of the most number of available people.

Where should we meet up?

  • West Mumbai (Bandra/Andheri) (36%, 15 Votes)
  • South Mumbai (Fort/Lower Parel) (29%, 12 Votes)
  • North Mumbai (Powai) (21%, 9 Votes)
  • Central Mumbai (Bandra Kurla Complex/Kurla) (14%, 6 Votes)

Total Voters: 42

When should we meet?

  • Afternoon/ 7 October Saturday (55%, 17 Votes)
  • Evening/ 6 October Friday (45%, 14 Votes)

Total Voters: 31

Of course, we are also seeking inputs on places to organise the meetup at. It is going to pay for your own food/drinks kind of an evening. So do drop in a line in the comments section about the places you think could host an event of this nature.

Alternatively, if someone already has a place which can be set aside for a few hours in the evening such as at a coworking space, we can also look at those options. Drop me a line at Ajay at livefromalounge dot com if you are able to help.

I’ll create a separate RSVP thread once we are ready to invite all you guys over as well!

  1. I would have loved to attend the meet in Bombay but from 6th to 10th October I am out of station. Wish the date decided was a bit later than 6th/7th.
