Ukraine International Airlines will launch flights between Delhi & Keiv next year

Ukraine International Airlines is the national carrier of Ukraine and largely operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft across Europe, Middle East and Central Asia. They do have some flights to South-east Asia as well, and over to Australia and USA too.

Over the years, they’ve morphed themselves into a no-frills carrier, keeping prices low however charging for the extras such as printing your boarding pass. Now, they are going to add Delhi to their route network in the coming year.

Ukraine International Airlines is planning to fly to Delhi 3 times a week next May onwards, and then scale up to 4 flights a week in the month of June 2018. Flights start May 1 onwards from Kiev and May 2 onwards from Delhi.

From June 2018 onwards, the flights become 4 times a week.

I’m just popping my eyes looking at those long layovers in Delhi. I’d imagine the flight would be operating with one set of the crew only, and they’d be rested before flying back to Kiev. Or is there another reason you could think of why an airline would perhaps decide to park overnight at Delhi rather than quickly turn around. Curfew at Kiev airport maybe?

Either way happy to see more airlines from Central Asia coming to Delhi. Air Astana launched this July, and now this.

  1. Last time I tried applying for a Ukraine visa i was asked for bribe. The visa process was so screwed up it’s not funny. Don’t know what it’s like now. I have returned with no visa from Delhi twice and wasted my money in the past.
