Earn JPMiles for Fuel at Indian Oil!

JetPrivilege has recently opened up another opportunity to earn and redeem JPMiles. This time, on a product that almost everyone uses: Fuel. Earlier this week, IndianOil started offering their customers the ability to earn miles for fuel purchase at select outlets in Mumbai and Delhi. However, more outlets are being added on an ongoing basis.

You get 1 JPMile per INR 150 spent on the purchase of regular fuel and 3 JPMiles per INR 150 spent on the XTRAPREMIUM variant of fuel purchased from IndianOil.

Not just that, JetPrivilege and IndianOil are also offering the ability to redeem JPMiles. You can burn 4 JPMiles for 1 INR worth of fuel. However, I do not recommend burning your JPMiles for fuel given the more exciting value you can get out of it when using it for flights.

Miles for Fuel

How do you earn Miles for Fuel?

On any IOCL outlet, you will receive 1 JPMile for the purchase of any product other than XTRAPREMIUM Fuel worth INR 150 (“Minimum Purchase”). On purchases worth an amount more than INR 150, you shall earn additional JPMiles in the ratio of 1 JPMile for every INR 150 over and above the Minimum Purchase. However, JPMiles accrued will be rounded off to the nearest integer for purchases over and above the Minimum Purchase. For example:

  1. For fuel purchased worth INR 150, you earn 1 JPMile
  2. For fuel purchased worth INR 200, you earn 1 JPMile
  3. For fuel purchased worth INR 250, you earn 2 JPMiles

You can earn JPMiles on fuel purchases up to a maximum of INR 5,000 per day and INR 20,000 per month. For redemptions again, JPMiles will be rounded to the nearest integer. You can also pay partly in JPMiles and the rest with money.

You just need to keep note of one thing; you need to collect a slip from the petrol pump (for earning and burning) to ensure they have registered your JetPrivilege number, as JetPrivilege’s MD shows us below.

Since this facility is not available at all outlets right now, you can find out here, which outlets would be able to make you earn miles for your fuel purchase.

Get 200 JPMiles as a bonus!

To celebrate the association, IndianOil is giving a 100 JPMiles to everyone who does a minimum fill of INR 150, all the way through February 2019. This is a one-time offer and valid on your first fuel purchase when you present your JetPrivilege number.

Further, the first time you accumulate miles for at least INR 7,500 purchase of fuel in a calendar month, you get another 100 JPMiles.

Bottomline

This partnership has been announced in the same week as United tied up with BP for offering miles for gas purchases in the USA. That would be a coincidence, but it just means that an Indian FFP such as JetPrivilege is high up there regarding capabilities with their American counterparts, the place where mileage programs were born.

This is a great opportunity to earn miles for doing what you anyways do: buy fuel.

What do you think of this new opportunity to earn miles? Will you actively want to earn JPMiles via fuel purchase from Indian Oil

  1. i had filled the Petrol in Indian oil outlet today in the morning dated 12-11-18 for Rs.2950/- but was not aware of the procedures. Now this benefit i can get it . the name of the petrol pump is VANSH AUTOMOBILES,Mumbai Agra Road, village-Dive,P.O.Anjur,Tal.Bhiwandial. ,Dist.Thane.

  2. if one has to mention the JP number for every transaction its a bit of a pain. some of the attendants will take time to register it and inconvenient for folks behind you.

there should be a smarter way where i can register my card or some sort of account number so that every time i buy the miles just get credited.

  3. I filled petrol at one of the Indian Oil pumps in BKC just day before and was told that they had received the training but not the relevant card machine that enables them to complete the transaction for the Jets Miles. So basically I lost out on my miles for that particular transaction. Let’s see what happens the next time.

  4. This is a great opportunity to earn miles. However my CC allows me to waive the surcharge at HP outlets. Will it be useful for me? May be for one time to collect 100 JP miles.
    Pls advise.

    • If you don’t have surcharge waiver at Indian Oil on your cards and your card gives more than 1% valueback, I guess doesn’t make sense for u except one.time bonus.

This is best for Citi Petrol.cards and such, where the value would be good for doing what you normally do.
