IHG buys 51% in Regent Hotels & Expands Asia Footprint

InterContinental Hotel Group has added a new luxury brand to their portfolio, with their acquisition of 51% in the Asian hotel brand Regent. They intend to put this brand on top of the InterContinental brand in terms of luxury hierarchy and are starting with reflagging InterContinental Hong Kong to Regent Hong Kong.

Airbnb Introduces Flexible Payments for Travellers

Airbnb has introduced a new pay later option, with which it will offer customers the opportunity to book their stays with a 50% advance rather than the complete amount of booking. This should help those who plan their holidays much in advance since they will be able to save on blocking off a lot of money till arrival.

This InterContinental Hotel left guests cold in torrential rains

The InterContinental Marine Drive in Mumbai (apparently) left some guests out on a cold rainy night and did not accommodate them into a room they (apparently) paid for. Is it the case of a reputed brand being at fault, or is it the case of some guests misinterpreting the rules and now taking the hotel to the cleaners?
