The frequent flyers in India will have one more moment to themselves getting on a plane. They don’t have to wait for their bags to be stamped with a security clearance after it is done, with effect from April 1, 2017. This would soon be implemented at other airports as well!

A couple of major airports in India are closing down their runways for maintenance at the same time and will be offline for a long period, at least 4 months. This will impact travel plans. Here are all the details.
I had a long and troublesome travel day yesterday with quite some amount of delays creeping in. However, we shall overcome! Here was how I hedged myself from going further into the trap. That too without having coffee on hand for 14 hours.

A few weeks back, I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Bangalore, the first hotel for the brand in India. I also discovered their impeccable and intuitive service, as well as the Ladies & Gentlemen at work. Pretty impressive short stay, reviewed for you.
There have been two major issues I’ve had with the Bangalore BIAL Airport for as long as I remember. Having used the airport based inside the city, I find the current airport too far away, and one can’t predict travel times to the airport since you can only go by the road. The other one was, the lack of a lounge for most airlines, except for Kingfisher Airlines. Then, they rebranded the Kingfisher Airlines lounge as the Pause Lounge. New cities they will be offering services in the coming months will be Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai, since these cities show up on their website in hiring mode as of now. I had a good experience with Uber a couple of weeks back when I tried out their services in Delhi, when I could get myself a Toyota Camry for the drive from the Delhi Airport to my home. And then, the next day, I had a great trip back to the airport when a BMW 5 series turned up to drive…
Uber, the SF-based super-premium car aggregator, recently launched in India, with their first Indian outpost being Bangalore. They’ve been testing their service since the past month or so, and now rolled out in the city. At the heart of the Uber experience is your smartphone, which you can flick out, and order for a car in the neighborhood using the Uber app (available for iPhones and Android), and the car will turn up at your door within a few minutes. In Bangalore, they’ve started with the Original Uber, which means a Mercedes E220 or an Audi A6 or another similar car. The pricing during the test phase was a base fare of Rs. 150 and Rs. 20 per kilometer, which…
