Reminder: Earn 20% more KingClub Miles on transfer before 30th Nov 2011

Just a quick reminder for those who intend to be making some bookings on Kingfisher Airlines in the award category. The special promotion which has been running this quarter to offer 20% extra miles free is going to end on 30th November 2011. Like I mentioned earlier in September 2011,  this offer is valid till November 30, 2011.

Here is what you have to do to avail 20% bonus KingClub Miles. Transfer worth 5000 miles worth from your credit card program or hotel programs to the King Club, and Kingfisher will add a 20% on top of it while crediting the miles. Take note, that different programs have different equivalents for the KingClub Miles, and hence you have to use worth 5K miles  as your guidance. For example, with Amex Membership Rewards, Kingfisher converts 1.25 MR points to 1 King Mile. So, if you transferred about 6250 MR points, you’d get 5000 miles. Along with this, you will get the bonus 1000 miles (20% of 5000 miles).

Here are the various credit card partners Kingfisher deals with:

  • American Express Membership Rewards
  • Axis Bank Pluspoints
  • Citibank Reward points
  • ICICI Bank Reward Points
  • Induslnd Bank
  • HDFC Bank Reward Points
  • HSBC Reward Points
  • SBI Power Points
  • Standard Chartered Bank Rewards

The hotel programs which credit to KFA are as follows:

  • Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints
  • Hilton HHonor points
  • ITC WelcomAward Stars
  • The Park (PATP) Points
  • VOILA Points
  • Marriott Rewards Points

Besides, Kingfisher Airlines also credits from a multi-loyalty program called Payback (earlier imint).

Free tickets on 100,000 miles transfer

Kingfisher is also offering a free one-way ticket to anywhere inside India on the transfer of 100,000 miles in one go. However, the T&C clearly state that the fuel surcharge to be borne by the passenger, so this might not be cheap as it looks like.

Under the current duress for Kingfisher Airlines, should you do this? If you plan to go out anywhere in the near future, by all means go ahead after checking if award availibility exists on your routes or now. Some of these programs will take a week or 2 to transfer points, so you got to act now to get your last cut. On the other hand, Amex transfers usually reflect within a day.

Also, since Kingfisher will be a part of oneworld shortly, it will make sense to tranfer points here and use them for redemptions on other OW partners shortly.
