Spicejet offering INR 1 base fare flights till March 2015

Another SpiceJet sale? I have seen a lot of these sales this year but this one takes the cake. SpiceJet has dropped prices to INR 1. The next slabs are INR 799 and INR 1499. Tickets can be booked between 1st and 3rd April 2014, for travel between 1st July 2014 to 28th March 2015. The discounts, as per SpiceJet should only be on the new flights introduced. However, they are pretty randomly scattered all over the place.

Now, while the detailed terms and conditions say there is no fuel surcharge on the INR 1 tickets, the fuel surcharge is indeed being charged on the INR 1 tickets at some points (highlighted). Here are the T&C:

  • The offer is valid only on bookings made between April 01, 2014 and April 03, 2014 (both days inclusive) for travel dates between July 01, 2014 and March 28, 2015 (both days inclusive).
  • The offer is valid on all bookings done directly through www.spicejet.com, online travel portals and travel agents only.
  • The offer is not available through any other channel including any corporate login IDs, SpiceJet’s our Sales and Reservations centre and Airport Ticketing offices
  • The discounted fare includes Base Fare only. Under this offer there is no Fuel Surcharge levied on the tickets. All statutory taxes, fees and surcharges etc., as applicable on the date of travel are to be borne by the customer(s).
  • Promotional fares are also available for Rs.799/- and Rs.1,499/-.
  • The offer is applicable only on direct flights on SpiceJet’s domestic network.
  • Limited inventory is available under the offer and is subject to availability on First-Cum-First-Served basis.
  • This offer is not valid for group bookings or bookings made for infants

There is no one fixed rule being applied here. The SpiceJet site is of course, acting dodgy. So you can look up GoIbibo, MakeMyTrip.com, Expedia and Yatra.com to book your tickets as well.

Do let me know your successes. I know of people having managed to buy Mumbai Goa tickets between 700 to 1500 INR each.

  3. The trick is if you need say 4 tickets , don’t buy in a single transaction. Split your transaction to get best price. When I was buying 4 tickets in a single transaction on Pune Delhi, I was getting the price of Rs 16000. But when I split into 2 transactions the cost for 4 ticket was Rs 4800.

  4. Bought 2 tickets Pune Delhi at Rs 800 each and 2 more at Rs 1600 each for Diwali time.
    On Del Sringar route got 1 ticket at 800, 2 tickets at 1600 and 1 more at 2400.Again during Diwali.

  7. The website is acting up now but early in the morning today I managed to book two Delhi-Mumbai return tickets for INR 1800 each for July. which is quite a good deal.
