Reminder: 5 days left for 50% off Jet Privilege redemptions

Early last week, Jet Airways had announced a sort of a sale, where you get domestic (India) award ticket redemptions at 50% off the usually required number of miles, if you redeem your miles via the website. This sale is valid for bookings made till September 30, 2014 and you need to book tickets by July 21, 2014. You can book business class as well as economy seats for redemptions.

This is just a quick reminder, that if you are interested in booking up your redemption tickets, it may be a good idea to plan it out now and book over the weekend. You can find all the details in my original post here. After all, a mile saved is a mile earned.

  1. @aaron, I tend to disagree. I believe Jet Airways miles are very valuable for close-in tickets on Jet metal domestically, esp. during these promotions. For instance, under the current sale, you are getting BOM-GOI for 2500 miles and BOM-DEL at 5250 miles in Y. a small fuel surcharge and airport taxes are levied. you basically get over 1 INR in value for your miles. If you choose to book in business class, you get over 2-3 INR per mile value.

On the other hand, in the case of intl. redemptions the fuel surcharges are huge, hence it only makes sense to redeem if you’re in business class on a long haul route since they are the only routes where you get decent value on a per mile basis.

  2. after saving up all the valuable miles, it really does not make sense to waste them on domestic redemptions. I cant understand why jet airways does not come up with the same offer for international redemptions, where members can really benefit on award tickets. Jet has a dismal record of award redemptions. I am hoping with the Etihad deal, things start looking up for our loyalty.
