Winners of #spglife swag and power bank

Last week, I put out a couple of giveaways from my recent trips. While I was gone for most of the week, I did put out a post declaring the winners last weekend. However, it seems the post did not make it online due to whatever reasons. So, here is the repost.

The winner of the giveaway for the portable powerbank was chosen by random.org. Out of the 42 responses, it went right down to the middle of the pack…

That will be Sachin Gurnani, who told us the following about his mileage preferences in India:

I prefer jet airways as they cover many destinations of the world including within India. And also our favorite way of earning points is thru the American express credit card. It’s also one of the best airlines. And after their etihad tie up things are looking even better.

For the next giveaway, which was for some cool shades courtesy Starwood, I asked random.org for help again, and here is the winner…

That will be…Vivek Yadav, who told us about his favourite SPG property:

My choice will be ITC Rajputana, its part of the luxury collection hotel. The restaurant Peshawari is amongst the best restaurant in North India for auhentic muglai food. Sikandari Raan with Naan Bukhara and dal makhani are amongst my favourites and a must try for all.

So, I would request the winners to reach out to me with their addresses at ajay at livefromalounge dot com and I will send them their goodies at the earliest. For the rest of you, watch this space for more.

  1. Hi, just wanted to point out one thing. Don’t you think choosing winners through random number generator defeats the purpose of such contests?

I could come and write a post like ‘I WILL WIN’ and i might even be chosen by random.org to win

Infact the second contest had just 6 entries, don’t think it takes much time to read them and decide on one of them

As a blogger, i think content and quality of the posts/feedback should be of importance for you, don’t you agree?

    • @Suyash, I do both kind of entries. If you notice on the first giveaway, there was a question that was asked and answered about miles in India, everyone who was on-topic was only considered for the prize. There was no right or wrong answer, but preferences asked from various people.. I have done contests with content-focussed giveaways as well and will continue to do so as well.
