Up to 10,500 free miles with Air Berlin’s TopBonus

Air Berlin, which is a oneworld alliance member airline, and also a member of the Etihad Airways Partner network, has been one of the better programs in the market dishing out miles for members. I have a small kitty with them without ever having flown them, and now they are back with a new promotion, which allows new members to get 1,000 miles for a membership, as long as they are getting to use the code of an existing member.

For the next two months, that is through July 31, 2016, you can earn 1,000 AirBerlin top-bonus miles for referring a new member to the program. Once a new member signs up, they receive a 1,000 miles as well (500 for sign up and 500 for opting to receive the airberlin newsletter).

Referral program

You earn 500 miles for your first referral, and 1,000 miles for the second to tenth referral, making a total of 9,500 free miles. On top of that, you get 1,000 miles to join yourself. The miles come into your account 3 days after you complete the action.

To be able to send out an email to your friends, use this page to log-in to the airberlin’s system and you can invite your friends from there via email. If you are yourself not a member, do consider using my link to sign up for the program. Use # 133762811 under the member-get-member field. After you sign up and accept to receive email newsletters, you get a 1,000 miles to yourself too.

What good is Air Berlin to me?

You may wonder why do you want to spend time in Air Berlin. At the minimum, for the European market, you could get a free ticket just by signing up and getting an account for a few people (10000 miles for an intra-Europe ticket). Additionally, they have tie-ups with Jet Airways as well, and Etihad, which allow you to redeem tickets for India-wide travel as well. Have a look at the award chart here. Your miles last for 3 years before expiring, and you can also credit your Jet Airways flights to them as well.

Bottomline

This promotion is a great way to accrue some easy miles for yourself and your friends and family via Air Berlin. You don’t even need to move anything except your mouse in this case! So I think we should all go for it.
