Etihad Guest might launch an Indian Credit Card?

One of the things on top of my credit card wish list has been an Etihad Guest Credit Card which allows me to earn miles in India. While I can always and do almost always earn JPMiles, Etihad Guest still has some sweet spots I’d like to work with.

Anyhow, it seems the parent company of Etihad Guest as well as JetPrivilege, the Global Loyalty Company (a part of the Etihad Group), has signed up a deal with Visa where they will focus on developing co-brand cards in UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Germany & Serbia. The deal has been signed on behalf of all the partner programs including Etihad Guest, Mille Miglia, topbonus and JetPrivilege.

While JetPrivilege has already percolated the Indian market very well, working with a variety of banks in India (ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, American Express and HDFC Bank), I’m guessing this would mean more co-brand partnerships for them as well as perhaps an Etihad Guest co-branded card in India as well?

I of course can hope for the best, right?
