Last week I wrote about the leaked details of Marriott’s upcoming summer promotion. We now have all the details and the registration page is now live for  Marriott Rewards’ Summer MegaBonus promotion, where they offer Infinite Points.

Just like Starwood’s SPG Take Three, the MegaBonus is open for registration between May 15 through August 30, 2017 and bonus points can be earned on stays beginning May 27 through September 4, 2017.  Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion will earn 2,000 bonus points for each paid stay, beginning with the second stay. On top of this there will be an additional 2,000 bonus points for trying each different Marriott brand during the promotion period.

In general, Marriott Rewards members earn 10 MR points per eligible US dollar spent. Earning a flat 2000 point bonus makes a lot of sense at the cheaper priced brands like Courtyard by Marriott. For example, at the Courtyard in Kochi, rooms are priced at an average of INR 4,600/ USD 72. The regular point earning for a paid night will be 720 MR points, though under this Mega Bonus you’ll straight away earn 2,720 points.

Bottomline:

This is a great promotion to consider if you have stays coming up at Marriott. There is no cap on the maximum number of points you can earn and one stay can consist of one night, unlike the SPG promotion where one stay must be for a minimum of two nights. This again makes the deal sweeter. So again there is an opportunity to maximize Marriott Rewards points here.
