Last year, many major Indian airports underwent the trial to stop the stamping of hand baggage tags. This is an archaic practice and aviation security across the world has gotten stronger on the back of new inputs. This year in February, it was notified that these airports no longer need to stamp the bags after them being x-rayed. In reality however, this kicked in only at the beginning of April 2017.
Subsequently, another 6 airports underwent trial for removing the practice at the beginning of May 2017. Those were:
These airports are now confirmed to have removed the hand baggage stamping requirement.

I would imagine we go through the list of airports which will not have security stamping of hand baggage items to a negligible one very soon. I’m hoping for that.
