Buy Hyatt points with 40% bonus until October 3, 2017

World of Hyatt is offering up to 40% bonus on points purchased between now and October 3, 2017.

The cost of each point under this promotion works out to US$ 1.71 cents and you can avail the entire 40% bonus only when you purchase 10,000 points or more. The maximum number of points that can be purchased under this promotion are 55,000, which with the 40% bonus add up to 77,000 World of Hyatt points for a price of USD 1,320.

40% bonus is usually the best point purchase promotion that Hyatt offers and it seems that this time around 40% is only available to World of Hyatt Globalist members. As Explorist members Ajay and I have both been targeted for the 35% bonus. This means that the cost of per point for us increases to US 1.78 cents and the maximum number of points we can buy under this promotion is 74,250 at a price of USD 1,320, which is not too bad. However I’ll admit i’m not thrilled with the disparity tactics World of Hyatt has been lately ploying.

Even though I am not a fan of the new World of Hyatt program, Hyatt continues to be my preferred brand because they have some beautiful hotels across the world. There are some very good redemptions out there for some aspirational properties that have a high rack rate but require a fixed number of points of reward nights.

Last year we spent New Years in Sydney, Australia and used our points for to stay at The Park Hyatt Sydney where we had a room with a view of the Opera House. The standard rooms here during December holiday season is priced at always priced at USD 1000+/ INR 64,000+. This is a Hyatt Category 7 hotel and for 30,000 points a night we got a great value of INR 2.2 per point . Buying 30,000 points at a full 40% bonus under this offer will only cost you USD 510/ INR 32,800 and that’s a super value redemption choice at some of the best Hyatt hotels around the world like the Park Hyatt Tokyo and the Park Hyatt Paris – Vendome.

Bottomline:

Like all point purchase promotions, I think it’s best to crunch the numbers before you decide to stack points. If you need additional points for a particular redemption or are planning a vacation to one those aspirational Hyatt hotels like the Park Hyatt Maldives or the newly opened Park Hyatt Mallorca in Spain then this is a great offer to make use of. Keep in mind if you live in India, the only way today to get Hyatt points without stays is through buying them.

We have used our Hyatt Gold Passport points at some amazing Hyatt hotels worldwide. To name a few, The Park Hyatt Maldives, Andaz West Hollywood, L.A. Park Hyatt Washington, Park Hyatt Sydney and recently at the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok.

Where have you used you World of Hyatt points? Share with us your best redemptions.

  1. Shipraji,

Does this qualify as an international purchase? In that case it may make sense to purchase it with a Diners Black Card, no?
