Turns out that IHG Rewards Club is being very generous with bonus points. Within a month of its last 100% bonus points purchase promotion, IHG is back with it again. IHG Rewards Club is offering a 100% bonus on points purchased through November 03, 2017.
All terms & conditions remain the same where points are priced at USD 13.5 for every 1,000 IHG Rewards Club points, in this case, making it 2000 points. Points can be purchased in multiples of 1,000 and the 100% bonus will kick in on a minimum purchase of 5,000 points, bringing down the price per point to 0.675 cents each with the bonus. You can buy a maximum of 60,000 IHG Rewards Club points every year. You can either choose to buy the points yourself or receive it as a gift. It will take up to 2 days for the points credit to reflect in your account.
IHG Rewards Club is considered to be the world’s largest hotel loyalty program by membership numbers with over 100 million members and has over 5,000 hotels in nearly 100 countries. The group currently has close to 30 hotels in India that are mostly mid-scale, though there is a reasonable footprint across Asia.
IHG points can come very handy if you are looking for redemption stays in Europe or USA or if you want to use them for PointBreaks where you can get a night for just 5,000 points. It is like picking up a hotel room for $29 only.
Additionally, there is another targeted IHG promotion running until December 31, 2017, where you can earn 2,000 bonus points after downloading the IHG App and signing into IHG account from the app.
Here are a few IHG of the recent hotels we have stayed:
- InterContinental Dublin
- Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre
- Holiday Inn Resort Goa
- Holiday Inn Express Dublin Airport
- Holiday Inn London Heathrow Terminal 5
Like always, I believe that buying points without having a redemption in mind are not a good idea. But the holiday season is coming up and if you are planning a break then it may be a good idea to top up your account now.
Would you buy points under this purchase promotion?
