Mumbai Airport T1 Travel Club Lounge now open

The Mumbai Airport Terminal 1 has been in a flux for a while now. They have seen GoAir move to Terminal 1B from 1A. With the move of Air India to Terminal 2 followed by the move of Jet Airways as well, all the full-service airlines had gone away from Terminal 1. So there was no case for a good  Mumbai Airport Lounge at this terminal.

Hence, the Jet Airways lounge in 1 reverted to being a generic Loyalty Lounge accessible via Priority Pass and then there is the Good Times Bar which is only accessible for some Visa and Amex Card holders. However, the only lounge available in Terminal 1C, the aerobridge section, the only lounge that existed, Carnation Lounge, shut down earlier this year. Last week, we reported that the new lounge was going to open sometime soon.

The good news is, it is already open now. I arrived at Terminal 1 yesterday on my way back from Mangalore, and I noticed this.

This lounge would be accessible for those who are travelling from Terminal 1C, which is the aerobridges at Terminal 1 Mumbai Airport. Which credit cards will allow access is yet to be known since I haven’t visited the lounge yet, but they are running an opening offer just now where the lounge and buffet are only going to cost INR 660! It is a good deal I say for a fine meal at Mumbai Airport given the food and presentation is very good!

Safe travels everyone. And I look forward to hearing more about this lounge from anyone who is travelling with them in the next few days!

  1. I have a query that Axis Bank Vistara Credit card will work at your Lounge in Mumbai, rest i have 2 kids of age 7 and 12 , how they can avail the Lounge service as they dont have the Credit Card nor Debit card can they be depend on My and my wife Credit card as they are dependent upon me. Pl suggest Regards Amit gupta

  2. I am having Kotak royal signature (high end ) credit card Visa. Travel club Mumbai domestic terminal 1 denied access to visa holders. On bank’s website they mention gate no 45 which is not at all exist. Taking Visa card for lounge access is a big mistake. Even holding royale signature doesn’t help.

    • Visa has withdrawn from lounge access program and is not accepted in all lounges in India. Only Mastercard are honored. The banks are not intimated and are selling products with Visa saying lounge access is available on their cards which is in fact not available.

  3. i think, it is the best lounge i have visited from an indian food perspective. staff were very polite. hope other cities have such facilities

  4. They have got all illetrate staffs especially at the counter . I had a master card on the firm’s name whose properitor is my self and according to the person on counter the boarding pass should be on company’s name as they told which is never possible as how can be a boarding pass be on company’s name and they didn’t accept my card and made me pay money in cash and also didn’t give us the receipt so I say they have got completely illetrate staffs and I would never prefer anyone to go there .

  5. I tried to access the lounge but was told that any mastercard works EXCEPT HDFC Regalia card. This is weird considering HDFC markets it as a super premium card below Infinia.

It’s accessible only for those in the boarding gates from 25 to 31 right after the security check.

  6. I travelled to Goa last week and used this lounge. It accepts only Mastercard and Priority Pass. Fortunately I had my debit cards handly (both mastercard). No Visa/Amex/Diners accepted here. The food is great. While I was there, the spread/variety was good and so was the taste. They even had a live counter for dosa and paratha etc. Looks more open and spacious compared to the previous one. Must visit for some really good food while waiting for your flight. Dont forget to pack the mastercard though.

    • What about rupay platinum debit card?

Even visa shows mals in Mumbai airport, is this the one?

    • i believe they have not yet tied-up with card networks for complementary access…yesterday i was there and came to know this after an inquiry… so will have to wait to see when they have arrangement in place..
