IHG Rewards Club has introduced a new offer for business travellers worldwide, staying in Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa region where you can earn double points for stays through April 30, 2018.
To get double points, first, you must register for the IHG Accelerate promotion. Then book IHG hotels under your company’s negotiated corporate rate. Double points are eligible not just for room stays, but you can also earn them on room service, laundry and dining in the hotels’ restaurants. You can see the details of this promotion on IHG’s website here.
IHG hotels in China, HongKong, Macau and Taiwan are excluded from this promotion, and the following six IHG brands are participating:
- Crowne Plaza
- Hotel Indigo
- Holiday Inn
- Holiday Inn Express
- Staybridge Suites
IHG Rewards Club members usually earn 10 points for every US dollar or equivalent spent. Here, there is a chance to earn 20 points for every dollar. A great thing, there is no cap on the maximum number of points you can earn under this offer. Additionally, this promotion is over and above the Accelerate offer so you will also gain points as and when you achieve your Accelerate tasks.
For example, I have a potential work trip coming up in Singapore. There is a lovely Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre that I have stayed at before. Staying three nights at this hotel under the corporate rate will not only earn me approximately 10,000 points (2x points), but I also get another 2,000 points for ticking off my first Accelerate task.
If your company has negotiated rates with IHG and you are an IHG Rewards Club members with stays coming up in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, then it’s a good idea to stack up IHG points. Afterall, this year, IHG has increased reward night points requirements for a lot of their luxury hotels and earning extra points without extra effort never hurts.
Are you planning to make use of this IHG Rewards Club offer? It is free points after all!
