Garuda Indonesia launching direct Mumbai Bali flights

Garuda Indonesia, the national carrier of Indonesia, is getting serious about attracting Indian flyers. After they launched flights between Mumbai and Jakarta in December 2016, Garuda Indonesia is adding new Mumbai Bali flights later next month, connecting the holiday destination of choice for Indians these days.

Mumbai Bali flights

The flight will be two times a week starting April 23, 2018, but in May 2018, they will make it three frequencies a week. Here is the schedule:

GA815 BOM2150 – 0755(+1)DPS A333 14
GA814 DPS1540 – 2025BOM A333 14

The third flight, when it happens, will be May 28 onwards, every Saturday.

This is an interesting set of flights to start because clearly, the airline is implying that you take more of long weekends to head to Bali. Club it with the Hilton sale ongoing right now, and you have Conrad Bali for 100$ a night.

Double Miles to Earn and Half to Redeem

To top it off, you can earn double miles for your flights to Bali, or redeem at 50% when you travel non-stop to Bali.

Accrual promo:

  • Double miles bonus for ticket class J/C/D/I/Y/B/M/K/N
  • 50% bonus miles for ticket class Q/T/V
  • Date of issue: 19 March – 19 April 2018
    Date of travel: 23 April – 23 July 2018

Redemption discount:

  • Enjoy a 50% redemption discount for all cabin classes
  • Date of issue: 19 March – 19 April 2018
    Date of travel: 23 April – 23 July 2018

The tickets are available for INR 23K onwards, which is an excellent price for a 7.5 hour long non-stop flights between the two destinations. You can book tickets with Cleartrip, Expedia, PayTM, Akbar Travels, Yatra, & MakeMyTrip to start.

Let us hope these flights work out for Garuda Indonesia because AirAsia X is again pulling out their one-stop flights between Mumbai and Bali in April 2018, which they launched just a year ago.

Comments

  1. I can see Garuda’s BOM-DPS-BOM service last only if they can manage to either offer Aussie (SYD,MEL & PER) connections both ways ex DPS or the flight goes Via BKK like the CGK service did. If GA cant do either of the two then this service too will be a short lived one.
