One of the rites of passage in the Miles & Points space is to fly Lufthansa First Class. It is perhaps one of the most aspirational premium cabin products out there. Lufthansa First Class is usually not accessible with miles apart from last minute availability (within two weeks of departure), except for Lufthansa’s own Miles & More members. However, today seems to be a brief opportunity when Lufthansa First Class Award Space is accessible with points, and there are tonnes of routings available.

Lufthansa First is available for many programs without any ticketing time limit today, including LifeMiles, SAS Eurobonus and Aegean Miles + Bonus. I am not sure about Air India Flying Returns since they don’t show online award availability for Star Alliance carriers. United and Aeroplan don’t have access to this space this moment.

With Lifemiles, you can buy about half of the miles you need by booking about $18.5 per 1,000 miles, which is close to the price you pay when you buy miles from them. During your award search, select Lufthansa as your preferred carrier for redemption and space should show up.

There is no availability for Lufthansa First between the US and Europe, though available for many other routes. For instance, you can fly from Mumbai to Frankfurt pretty easily in First at the moment. There is lots of availability in patches in Asia, in South America and other places too. There are lots of other pairs with availability as well.

Hopefully, you can take advantage of this excellent award availability before it gets pulled.
