The world’s longest flight operated by Singapore Airlines between Singapore and Newark starts next month. I’m no big fan of spending 19 hours in a metal tube, but I’m sure many of you would like to fly on this route. If you have been saving your KrisFlyer miles to redeem on Singapore Airline’s ultra-long-haul routes, you are in luck as you might be able to take that flight sooner thanks to Singapore Airline’s new Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes promotion.
With this new promotion, you can book a non-stop flight from Singapore to New York Newark in Premium Economy for just 40,000 KrishFlyer miles. Book till September 30, 2018, for travel from October 11 through November 30, 2018.
Heading to the West-Coast instead? Fly to San Fransisco or Los Angeles in Business Class for 65,000 miles. That’s almost 40% cheaper than the usual 88,000 redemption rate. Travel between November 1 to 30, 2018, to avail of this rate. Again, book your ticket by September 30, 2018.
And it’s not just these super long flights that have reduced redemptions. You get 30% off on redemption on 19 routes in Asia. A Mumbai-Singapore redemption would cost you only 12,950 KrisFlyer miles in Economy. You can check the routes on offer here.
Key terms and conditions of this promotion include:
- Only applicable on Saver redemptions
- Tickets can only be booked online through singaporeair.com
- If any part of the itinerary falls outside the applicable travel period or contains an ineligible flight, the entire itinerary will not be eligible for the promotion
- No stopovers are allowed for this promotion
If you are like me and don’t fly Singapore Airlines ofter, your credit card points should help you get these redemptions. Popular cards such as the Citi Prestige (4 KrisFlyer miles/ Prestige Point), Diners Black (1 KrisFlyer mile/point) and a host of Amex Cards (1 KrisFlyer mile/ 2 Membership Rewards points) are transfer partners. The new Amex Everday spends credit card too earns you MR Points which can be transferred to Krisflyer.
Singapore Airlines’ new promotion is an excellent opportunity to fly their premium cabins to North America and destinations in Asia. If you are keen on flying any of the ultra-long-haul routes, this is your chance to book them cheap.
Will you be using KrisFlyer’s new promotion to book any redemption flights on the cheap?
