Marriott will launch Tribute Portfolio and Delta Hotels in India

Marriott International operates the largest chain of branded hotels in India, with over 105 properties spread across the country. As of today, there are fifteen brands of Marriott in India which include marquee brands such as the JW Marriott and St. Regis. Marriott International is now on track with their plans to bring two more brands to India, namely, the Tribute Portfolio and Delta Hotels.

The Tribute Portfolio is a collection of independent hotels around the world, each with their unique flavour. The Tribute Portfolio also offers a curated set of homes. On the other hand, Delta Hotels is a chain of business hotels which are primarily located in Canada and the US. It would be interesting to see how will this be any different than their existing offerings.

Marriott will open their first Tribute Portfolio hotel in Kochi. Goa will get the first Delta Hotel in the country. We are yet to know when will these hotels open. Both Kochi & Goa are tourist favourites with a lot of options already present. Delta is an upscale brand, so I am keen to see how they come into this new market?

Not being a fan of cookie-cut hotels, I’m keen on seeing how Marriott crafts their Tribute Portfolio in the country. And on the home rentals front, maybe its time to get creative? (Marriott houseboats anyone?).

Bottomline

It is no secret that Marriott International is serious about having a significant footprint in India. With these new brands coming in, you have more choices on your next trip to Goa. Don’t forget, if you stay at any of Marriott’s hotels, you can earn points and status with Marriott Rewards. So make sure you sign up for that too!

Have you stayed at a Tribute Portfolio or Delta Hotel before? How was your experience?
