American Express is out with a slew of new promotions in the new year, all of which are intended to help you get to use your American Express cards and get Membership Rewards points to the maximum. There is a promotion to offer double points for Educational Institution Spends, giving away free credit cards, giving bonus points for Supplementary Card issuance and statement credit on Hyatt Hotel stays. Not just that, if you will pay your insurance bills with your Amex, you will get tonnes of more Membership Rewards points this quarter too. And if you are buying Future Group stuff on your American Express, you get discounts there too. There is a new promotion for 6X Membership Rewards points on American Express International Spends too. You can now get 10% cashback as a statement credit, up to INR 1,000 on spending at any of the American Express partner merchants during the offer period, which is between February 8 and April 30, 2019. The partner merchants for this promotion are Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, Ola, Uber, Uber Eats, BookMyShow, BigBasket, and Grofers. 

The new Amex Offer is being offered on American Express personal cards such as

• American Express Platinum Charge Card
• American Express Gold Charge Card
• Jet Airways American Express Platinum Credit Card
• American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card (Currently Free)
• American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card (Currently Free)
• American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card

The promotion is not valid on the Everyday Spend American Express Gold Credit Card and American Express Corporate Cards or cards issued by ICICI Bank or IndusInd Bank. You get a total cash back of up to INR 1,000 on purchases made during the offer period, and it is across the brands and not on a per brand basis. For Ola and Uber, transactions taken for rides only in India will be eligible for the offer.
