IndiGo further expands to the Middle-East from Mumbai and Delhi

For the past few months, IndiGo has ramped up its international operations by adding quite a few new international flights.

IndiGo temporarily suspended flights to Doha from Ahmedabad and Trivandrum but will re-start flights from August 6, 2019. Also, IndiGo keeps on pushing back the launch of second daily Delhi-Istanbul flight and the first flight is now scheduled for September 5, 2019.

Additionally, IndiGo announced the launch of Mumbai-Dammam flights and even opened booking for the same. Due to delay in regulatory approvals, IndiGo has indefinitely postponed the launch and closed bookings for the same. Chengdu which was announced as a new international destination a while back seems to be stuck in regulatory approvals as no timetable/first flight date is announced yet.

Both IndiGo and SpiceJet managed to bag a lion’s share of the temporary Jet Airways bilateral rights which were distributed to Indian carriers. Using those, IndiGo has further expanded its international presence by launching the following new flights.

IndiGo’s international expansion since April 2019

IndiGo, at the beginning of this year, said 50% of their expansion in 2019 would be from international routes, and this is just a bonus for them, not having to create the market but land it due to another player vacating the market. Let’s see when are the new flights which were announced earlier but seem to have stuck for some reason, are launched.

You can book these flights using IndiGo’s own website, or MakeMyTrip / GoIbibo.

Will you be taking advantage of IndiGo’s new flights from Mumbai and Delhi?
