Last Day: Purchase Hilton Honors Points at ₹ 0.4 / $ 0.005 with 100% Bonus

There are times when you are looking at an amazing hotel redemption for that quick weekend getaway but end up falling short on points. Many of us would buy a block of points to hit our goals. If a Hilton Hotels property is on your radar, there’s a new Purchase Hilton Honors points bonus promotion where you can get double the points for the same price.

Buy Hilton Honors Points with a 100% Bonus.

To avail of this offer, you’d have to purchase upwards of 5,000 Hilton Honors points after logging into their website through December 31, 2022.

Hilton Honors members are usually permitted to buy up to 80,000 points each calendar year, but for the duration of this promotion, the limit has been doubled to 160,000 points. This means you can buy 160K points and receive 320K points in total.

While checking out, you’ll be able to see that the bonus has been added. In the end, each point comes at a price of USD 0.005 or INR 0.4 equivalent.a screenshot of a graph

Just look at the Conrad Maldives, which is a great island property and a hot favourite for those travelling from India for their vacations to the Maldives, which has resumed.

Conrad Maldives

It usually retails at USD 1140+ but could be yours for 120K points per night, which is basically a price of USD 600, in other words, half off. Read a review of the Conrad Maldives here.

Or take, for example, the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, which is the newer Hilton hotel in the Maldives. The going rate is about USD 2000 per night, or you can get it for USD 750 when you buy points and use 150,000 points per night.

Want to stay a few more nights? Pick up a package or two using your friend’s or spouse’s account & pool your points. And if you are an elite, that suite upgrade may be right around the corner. Also, do remember that elites get the 5th night free, so you could potentially have a longer vacation on points if you are an Elite with Hilton Honors.

Which credit card should you buy Hilton Honors points with?

Typically, these point purchases are processed through Points.com and not directly by the hotel or airline. However, you will almost always pay in USD/EUR/GBP and not INR. So, the best cards to earn a bonus are Citi Prestige, Axis Reserve or American Express Platinum Charge Card, as these cards offer an international spending bonus. Beyond these, look at any card that provides a reduced foreign exchange spend conversion or one where you want to meet any minimum spend requirements.

Bottomline

Hilton Honors regularly comes out with promotions offering anywhere between 60% to 80% bonus points on purchases. A 100% bonus does not come often. This may be an offer worth considering if you are planning on stocking up on Hilton Honors points for your next vacation.

Will you be buying Hilton Honors points with this promotion? Let us know.

  1. Hey Ajay,

The Hilton website says this is valid for 80% bonus (not 100%) and for up to 80K pts (not 160K). Does it differ based on membership type or was this bit on your site from an earlier promo?

“The 80% Points bonus campaign is available for purchases of 5,000 or more Points made between Aug 2, 2022, at 12:01am ET and Sep 18, 2022, at 11:59pm ET.”

    • @Rakesh, perhaps your targeting was for a lower amount then. Most people I know got the 100% offer. And honestly, it is the first time in weeks I am hearing of the 80% offer.

  2. I recently read that points required has been increased for some properties. For example Conrad Maldives now starts at 120k instead of 95k 🙁

  3. This thread got bumped up yesterday but I dont know what part of the content was updated? Is there any piece of information that is updated?

    • The Amex Platinum charge card gives you complimentary Hilton Gold Status. Or if you are an elite with a competing chain, they do status matches sometimes.

  4. Ajay is there any worthy Indian property to get maximum be benefit out of HHonors points?

Just like Hyatt Kochi for World of Hyatt?

  5. @Ajay, Just little curious as this article is posted by you on 19 MAY 2021, but how come the comments added back in 2019 and 2020 ?

Reg your comparison of Conrod Maldives, now the same beach villa rates are as low as 505 -550$, is that 850++ after adding all taxes ? and when we book with HH points, do we get full board ? or only room only rates.. thanks in advance.

And it seems no taxes while we book with HH points.. well, that’s a relief !

    • @Rakesh, with this post, I updated a prior post so that people don’t miss out on earlier comments which are of interest to them. The math works at high-priced hotels, so you will have to do the math for every hotel at your planned time. For instance, if a hotel in India is going for 3K INR, obviously better to pay cash.

$850-900 upwards is the season rate when it is not raining in Maldives, wonder what dates are you checking. When you book with points, you get room + if you have status with Hilton you get breakfast and perks. For any points booking, there is no taxes as the tax is also paid by HHonors to the property.

  6. Hi Ajay,

    Can anybody avail the offer?

Also what would be considered as an activity once a year to keep the points active?

    Thanks

  7. Well, do this with citi prestiage for double dip and get 4X points which intern become 16 Avois per 100 Rs 🙂 .

    • Hi, can you tell me where you burn your Citi Prestige points? I’ve got the invitation for Citi Prestige but I’m still not able to make up my mind. Besides good earning and redemption ratio, there’s nothing much in the card left.

Though I would love to burn points for business/first class tickets. Just wanted to know your review if you happen to have one. Thanks

    • I am a presige user.. can you explain step by step what is to be done?

What relation do avios n Hilton points have?

And how does 4x point work?
