SpiceJet and Indigo 40% off sale fares till June 19

I’m trying to keep up with these fare sales but they don’t seem to stop! I think the Indian leisure flyer hasn’t had it as good in a few years now, with continuous sales on offer by various airlines, however, these sales are causing a lot of pain to airlines such as SpiceJet of course. SpiceJet started off by offering a sale fare yesterday morning, which will be available till June 19, 2014 and has some attractive offers. For instance, the Mumbai Delhi sector which usually sells at INR 5000+ is on offer at INR 2999 all inclusive. You can ticket these sale fares between 17 and 19 June 2014 and travel between 19 July and 30 September 2014. Of…

Groupon offering GoAir discount vouchers

A few days ago, I wrote about the availability of British Airways discount vouchers on Groupon India. Groupon has been working with GoAir in the past as well, and now has a promotion available, where you can purchase GoAir discount vouchers on Groupon India. You have the opportunity to purchase an INR 99 voucher, which gives you an INR 850 discount on a one-way ticket, or an INR 199 voucher, which gives you an INR 1800 discount on a roundtrip. [Edit: Readers tell me you need INR 8000K worth of ticketing to be able to use it, something not stated in the T&C] The vouchers are one-time use only, and generated instantaneously and delivered to your email. However, to use…

SpiceJet is continuously promoting its new network, and after their sale around the country last week which just concluded, they have another one just for originating from South India. Since I did not have much time to post about this yesterday, I put out a tweet on this deal yesterday. You should follow my account on Twitter for deal updates when I can’t post about them immediately. The sale runs from April 8, 2014 to April 10, 2014 and offers some good fares for originating from Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Madurai, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Tuticorin, Vijaywada and Vizag. There is Kolkata in the list as well, and I have no idea when did they move to South India. You can travel between…

Get Gold Coins to travel SilkAir Business Class from India

I’ve been around in the miles and points world for a reasonable bit, and I’ve done some convoluted stuff sometimes to maximise my miles & points, but I’ve never heard of someone handing out gold coins to get passengers. But amusing stuff does happen in the air travel business. To celebrate their 25th Anniversary (read as, appeal to the love for gold in South India), Silk Air is offering up to two 4 Gram 24 Karat Gold coins for those who choose to fly SilkAir business class from India to Singapore or onwards. SilkAir operates from the following stations in India: Kochi (COK) Coimbatore (CJB) Trivandrum (TRV) Visakhapatnam (VTZ) Hyderabad (HYD) Bangalore (BLR) Chennai (MAA) Kolkata (CCU) If you’re interested,…

British Airways’ new mushy video & up to 70% discount for 2

First and foremost, get that pack of tissues handy. British Airways released a new video commercial this morning, targeted at the Indian market called Go further to Get Closer. Have a look: British Airways has clearly stepped up their India efforts over the past year, having recognised India is the second biggest market for them outside the UK, the other big one being USA. Now, here comes along an interesting offer as well, where BA claims to give you up to 70% off on tickets for 2 to the UK. This isn’t an online offer, so I made a friend make a call BA, and for a random date in June 2014, the offer price was at about INR 45,000…
