Qatar Airways now transfer partners for PremierMiles

PremierMiles is one of my most used credit card in India, and I definitely love it when they add more and more transfer partners. There has been a recent addition, and this is the Qatar Airways Privilege Club, where you can now transfer your PM for a 1:1 ratio.

To be sure, Qatar Airways is not exactly one of the best mileage programs out there, but with this addition, PremierMiles has 2 out of the big 3 Middle-East airlines in their club, all of which incidentally offer pretty sucky redemption values. Considering QR is a oneworld member, I’d have expected similar rates for redemption on their own metal as well as partners, but this is not the case. They charge more, for instance, to travel to London from Mumbai on BA than their own metal. And the difference is massive. So I’d advise you against using this program for your redemptions.

With this addition, here is how PremierMiles stacks up in terms of mileage transfer partners:

  • Star Alliance:
    • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
    • Royal Orchid Plus from Thai Airways
    • Eva Air’s Infinity MileageLands
    • Air India (to be inducted)
  • oneworld Alliance:
    • British Airways Avios
    • Asia Miles from Cathay Pacific
    • Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich
    • Qatar Airways Privilege Club
  • Skyteam:
    • Delta Skymiles

They also have hotel partners in Hilton, IHG and Taj Inner Circle.

Just a reminder then, if you are interested in collecting more PremierMiles, there is a double PremierMiles on International Spends promotion going on at the moment.

  1. Though adding QR doesn’t excite me, I’m happy that they are adding a new transfer partner every 6 months or so.
