OK. I found the problem. My flight number is listed in the eticket as CX0870 (Hong Kong to SFO) That’s what I have been entering (the field alreday has CX in front and so I entered 0870 in the field). Obviously I should have omited the zero and entered the flight number as 870. Who would have thunk that? When I emailed CP about the problem they emailed me back (within the hour I must say) saying they tested the coupon and it works and sent me a screen shot of their test. That is how I learned about the pesky zero. Now everything is good.
They sent me the coupon. My flight is from HYD-Hong Kong-SFO. When I tried to us it, I kept getting the message ‘this service is not available on this flight’ (same error for both the flights). Does it mean I can not use the copon on the flight I got the coupon for. The terms say next flight. Not clear. Do I have to book ANOTHER flight to claim the coupon? To me this coupon is useless.
